Set up Peek and permissions
Install Peek on macOS 14 or later and allow the microphone, screen and Accessibility permissions it needs to help you.
Open Peek on a Mac running macOS 14 or later. Follow the welcome tour. The first launch downloads files for speech and voice, so keep the Mac online until setup finishes.
Allow what Peek needs
- Microphone lets Peek hear a question while you talk.
- Screen & System Audio Recording lets Peek see the screen when you ask about it.
- Accessibility lets shortcuts work across apps and lets Peek point, click or type when asked.
Open Peek Settings → Permissions to see what is missing. Use Allow, then Check again. You can also review these in macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security.
Screen access does not mean constant recording. Peek captures the screen when you ask a question. See privacy controls.
